I called Leslie at about 6:40, and said I'd be at her place at 7, but got stuck in traffic and was there at 7:25. She just let me in when I buzzed without bothering to verify who it was, haha. AFTER THREE LONG MONTHS, WE HAVE BEEN REUNITED! Catching up, Vegas bling necklaces / postcards / maps (Nevada) / T-shirt / playing cards, wedding photos, Vegas pictures, baby Ayler photos, dinner, chilling, and more were definitely on the agenda! Discussed Facebook, TSN, Edwin Encarnacion, baseball, the Blue Jays winning 11-9 over the Indians, the BC Lions losing 23-20 to the Saskatchewan Roughriders, the Puckheads group (she added me at my own request!), Carol / Stuart, racism, and reminders. Conversed about my wanting to know ALL THE DETAILS (she didn't mind!), Marissa / Caleb / Connor, James (who showed good timing by saying hi on YM just as we were discussing him :P), fans, water / apple juice, Vegas hotels, Jon / Harmony / Ayler (I gotta see the baby before he loses his cuteness!), TV programs, FINAL FANTASY, COMMAND AND CONQUER, her new large extended family thanks to Harmony and all of Lisa's cousins, Lucas / Liam / Ruth / Sandy / Mike, and dinner options.

We talked about Tokyo Joe's (sushi good if there's a large group only - not for two people), Denny's, Italian Tomato (which Eliza told her about), Korean BBQ (she wasn't REALLY HUNGRY!), closing hours NOT posted on websites (?!), NOT White Spot, and other things. Finally, she had to call Italian Tomato to find out that they closed at 10. Since it would probably take forever to find Bridgeport after 9:10, I figured that we might as well go to ABC Family Restaurants next to Yaohan. Sounded fine to her! I had a quesadilla with a garden salad, and she had a chicken pot pie with a garden salad. Talked about grandmas, expensive electronics, iPads, iPhones, plasma TVs, Steve Nash going to the Lakers (not with the Phoenix Suns anymore - A CONTENDER INSTEAD!), T&T, prices, Price Smart, IQ Tester games, Nathan and Ciel, busyness, seeing the baby, changing opinions, a BOBBY LOU burger in Burnaby, and more.

I was fine with going to Price Smart briefly: the 30-count of bottled water was on sale for $4! Since that was what she was going to get anyway, that was even more incentive! She lugged it around the store in a wheeled cart while we checked out the magazines and Asian section. Decided to get some purple yam / taro ice cream while we were there - of COURSE it was fine if she took that on the way out since I had to help with the bottled water! I stopped in briefly to grab my stuff while putting down the bottled water in the kitchen, and she convinced me to sign the guestbook even if it would be abbreviated. YAY! I HOPE IT'S NOT THREE MONTHS BETWEEN HANGOUTS AGAIN!

Hi! I was in the States last week, and now I really want to HANG OUT with Leslie, Nathan, Jon, Harmony, and white Eric! Hopefully, I can talk to them soon before I have to go back to work in Hong Kong! Can't believe Michael Jackson is dead, man!

( Superpower and super-weakness, what the week I was born says about me, what my address says about me, which celebrities share my birthday month, inspirational fortune cookie, the meaning and origin of my name, thunder god / gypsy / Polynesian / street gang / Indian chief / Northern African names )

I escaped from the Dungeon of Lddude!

I killed Glowing Dragon the gelatinous cube and Happy Raisin the zombie.

I looted the Dagger of Cheung Man, the Wand of Long-distance Relationships, the Armour of Missing Things, the Dagger of the Can, the Sword of Weird Books, the Armour of Chinese Movies, the Sword of Weird Books, and 22 gold pieces.

I'm not sure why I have two Swords of Weird Books, but it's all good!

It's good to have a half-day of work, even if I have to work on the weekend! I got to Leslie's house by 6:20, and we spent some time discussing Jon and the bubble tea hangout on Monday. Yeah, I called both the other Eric and Nathan to see what time it would be, haha. It was good seeing Jeremy and the others play Big Two, although I thought for a moment there that he'd have "home-deck advantage" (kinda like home-ice advantage in hockey), since he won like the first three or four games. She showed me a weird LJ Dungeon RPG thing, and we looked up various movies on IMDB and in the paper: DA VINCI CODE, OVER THE HEDGE, NACHO LIBRE, THE OMEN, SUPERMAN RETURNS, etc. When Fay gets back, I'm going to get a "nice" kind of revenge on her if she makes me feel bad: I'll say that I'm sorry, then offer to take her to a nice romantic movie! Little will she know that it'll actually be a horror movie: how much closer can you get to someone than by watching their blood and guts spill out of them? Haha, just joking! (then she thinks that Fay will kill me, but that's another matter!)

I brought up various restaurant suggestions, but Leslie wasn't up for White Spot / Chinese food / pizza / other things since she'd had them all recently! Then she said that we could go to a restaurant near her place called the MAD GREEK: it was nice to walk there in the good weather we're having. I see all these people in my neighborhood who take walks at like 9 or 9:30, and that's the nice part about summer! We talked about the World Cup since she was wearing some yellow England World Cup 2006 shirt her mom got her on the Caribbean cruise: my girl likes David Beckham and Michael Owen (he's Canadian, but plays there since Canada's soccer program sucks :P) because they're good-looking. Here I thought it was based on their soccer skills... sigh.

At the restaurant, we had bread / mussels / lamb souvlaki: the tomato sauce for the mussels reminded me of those giant restaurant-sized cans of Campbell's Soup! We talked about Fay's sister and the rude way her boyfriend treats her, the CityTV Taste of the City in late July 2006, relationships, parental assumptions, my wanting to go to a temple in China and seek good luck for my job (my mom thought I wanted to ask about Fay... NO, MOM!), how not everything in my life revolved around Fay, MSN, Summer Conference, etc. Then I wondered whether Leslie's TV still worked: she said she'd told me before that she'd fixed it, but I don't remember. So we tested it out when we got back to the house: it was cool to see SOME color among the green and white on the screen! :P

I wondered if Jon had hinted about a girlfriend, and then Leslie told me that if he HAD, their mom would be all over it just like she was when she saw Jon offering their friend Connie his jacket since she was cold one day! That led to more discussion about how when parents were on a roll, you couldn't stop them. You could say ANYTHING to them and they won't really let you get a word in edgewise! Maybe we can ask Nathan about it later on, since he would know. It was a good dinner, of course! We also discussed her friend Jasmine ([livejournal.com profile] surrey_sucks) and that guy Dave breaking up: of course it's not going to work out if you want to do things with other girls! :P

Now we're back here and I want to play cards / do some of her word searches in this huge book she has (I want to finish the WHOLE BOOK!)... if you can't finish them, it makes you feel intellectually stupid! I'll wait for my mind to inspire me before I sign her blue guestbook, heh. She was amused when I described some Pink Floyd DARK SIDE OF THE MOON song as being "mesmerizing, like cult music... they could HYPNOTIZE people with that stuff, man!" That reminds her of Jonestown (transcript / audio tape / more transcripts / Wikipedia article), actually. (but then, I initially thought that the band screwed up, haha!) Contrary to what she thought, I HAVE had Ben and Jerry's before: just not Half-Baked, Tortoise Soup, and Chocolate Fudge Brownie! ;) I'll send her a timed "jumping frog game" that my girl sent me later on, too.
