I'm not sure why I have two Swords of Weird Books, but it's all good!

It's good to have a half-day of work, even if I have to work on the weekend! I got to Leslie's house by 6:20, and we spent some time discussing Jon and the bubble tea hangout on Monday. Yeah, I called both the other Eric and Nathan to see what time it would be, haha. It was good seeing Jeremy and the others play Big Two, although I thought for a moment there that he'd have "home-deck advantage" (kinda like home-ice advantage in hockey), since he won like the first three or four games. She showed me a weird LJ Dungeon RPG thing, and we looked up various movies on IMDB and in the paper: DA VINCI CODE, OVER THE HEDGE, NACHO LIBRE, THE OMEN, SUPERMAN RETURNS, etc. When Fay gets back, I'm going to get a "nice" kind of revenge on her if she makes me feel bad: I'll say that I'm sorry, then offer to take her to a nice romantic movie! Little will she know that it'll actually be a horror movie: how much closer can you get to someone than by watching their blood and guts spill out of them? Haha, just joking! (then she thinks that Fay will kill me, but that's another matter!)

I brought up various restaurant suggestions, but Leslie wasn't up for White Spot / Chinese food / pizza / other things since she'd had them all recently! Then she said that we could go to a restaurant near her place called the MAD GREEK: it was nice to walk there in the good weather we're having. I see all these people in my neighborhood who take walks at like 9 or 9:30, and that's the nice part about summer! We talked about the World Cup since she was wearing some yellow England World Cup 2006 shirt her mom got her on the Caribbean cruise: my girl likes David Beckham and Michael Owen (he's Canadian, but plays there since Canada's soccer program sucks :P) because they're good-looking. Here I thought it was based on their soccer skills... sigh.

At the restaurant, we had bread / mussels / lamb souvlaki: the tomato sauce for the mussels reminded me of those giant restaurant-sized cans of Campbell's Soup! We talked about Fay's sister and the rude way her boyfriend treats her, the CityTV Taste of the City in late July 2006, relationships, parental assumptions, my wanting to go to a temple in China and seek good luck for my job (my mom thought I wanted to ask about Fay... NO, MOM!), how not everything in my life revolved around Fay, MSN, Summer Conference, etc. Then I wondered whether Leslie's TV still worked: she said she'd told me before that she'd fixed it, but I don't remember. So we tested it out when we got back to the house: it was cool to see SOME color among the green and white on the screen! :P

I wondered if Jon had hinted about a girlfriend, and then Leslie told me that if he HAD, their mom would be all over it just like she was when she saw Jon offering their friend Connie his jacket since she was cold one day! That led to more discussion about how when parents were on a roll, you couldn't stop them. You could say ANYTHING to them and they won't really let you get a word in edgewise! Maybe we can ask Nathan about it later on, since he would know. It was a good dinner, of course! We also discussed her friend Jasmine ([livejournal.com profile] surrey_sucks) and that guy Dave breaking up: of course it's not going to work out if you want to do things with other girls! :P

Now we're back here and I want to play cards / do some of her word searches in this huge book she has (I want to finish the WHOLE BOOK!)... if you can't finish them, it makes you feel intellectually stupid! I'll wait for my mind to inspire me before I sign her blue guestbook, heh. She was amused when I described some Pink Floyd DARK SIDE OF THE MOON song as being "mesmerizing, like cult music... they could HYPNOTIZE people with that stuff, man!" That reminds her of Jonestown (transcript / audio tape / more transcripts / Wikipedia article), actually. (but then, I initially thought that the band screwed up, haha!) Contrary to what she thought, I HAVE had Ben and Jerry's before: just not Half-Baked, Tortoise Soup, and Chocolate Fudge Brownie! ;) I'll send her a timed "jumping frog game" that my girl sent me later on, too.

I'm here at [livejournal.com profile] glowing_dragon's house, and she showed me a weird dungeon. We might watch a movie later, or go out to eat. We'll see.

Much thanks to [livejournal.com profile] glowing_dragon, who helped set me up with this account after reminding me about it for the past two months. :D

We hung out tonight at my favorite place, Boston Pizza. At least we managed to win the hockey game the Canucks played against the Avalanche... but we really need to do a better job of protecting a 5-1 lead, since it became a 6-4 game. Imagine the vibe back at Boston Pizza... "what the heck?! DAMN! AIYA!!!!" hahaha.

We had a dinner of chipotle popcorn shrimp and BBQ chicken pizza: hanging out with friends and watching / listening to the hockey game is double pleasure! (we talked about Jon, Dave, Nathan, the kids, Halloween plans, same-name syndrome, pictures, and weird stuff) It was a 5-1 game, but then the Canucks grew complacent and it ended up being 6-4. Oh well, at least we still won... when we returned here instead of watching a movie, she bugged Corey about it as per usual. She and I talked about TV, her MSN list, long-distance relationships (Corey / his ex Rachael / their story / her online friends in such relationships), high school, books, her online pals (especially Corey [[livejournal.com profile] dwcorey] / Palmer [[livejournal.com profile] palmer_kun] / Jasmine [[livejournal.com profile] surrey_sucks] / Rachel [[livejournal.com profile] cynicalsiren] / Jess [[livejournal.com profile] yogaclass4cats] / Asa [[livejournal.com profile] apollotiger]), CLEAN and NORMAL stories about long-distance relationships (I joked about no multiple partners or gay people :P), her 56K connection that acts much faster at times, and friends.

After that, she set me up with an LJ: we talked about names, icons, the Chinese actresses Yo-Yo Mung and Cheung Man, my interests, passwords, emails, her typing out posts for me since I was too tired to think much, and joking around about various topics. (she knows my story better than Fay and I do, haha) I borrowed three of her books, and declared that it was worth not watching a movie to just hang out and get set up with the online communities! ([livejournal.com profile] randomthought, [livejournal.com profile] loversfaraway, and LJ in general)
