Had a good time last night with Leslie ([livejournal.com profile] glowing_dragon) at the Mad Greek restaurant. After she gave me some Canucks stickers that she got at Walmart when she went with her friend Vanessa, we were outta here after I saw Steph and Lisa's wedding invitation! Unfortunately, I had a bit of trouble finding parking; we should have just walked since it was nearby, but it was okay in the end since she had made reservations earlier. I had the chicken souvlaki, and she had the roast lamb. (her water had ice, but mine did not)

We discussed family dynamics, travel preferences, saying grace / praying, pregnancy, perspective, prenatal classes, our parents, Christianity / the Bible / that book I borrowed from her after MissionsFest, my cousin having a kid now, stages of life, the church and the 2012 Mayan calendar, doctors, medicine, future hangouts (maybe at a game sometime), the President's Trophy, her parents' reaction to THE ANNOUNCEMENT, Jon / Harmony (impending parenthood) / Lisa / Steph, our health issues, Las Vegas, and Caesar's Palace. Also talked about Teunis ending a friendship, white Eric, the Red Wings winning 21 games in a row, Facebook / Twitter, Chapters, the playoff seeding, the Canucks / the Bruins / last year's playoffs, rice, potatoes, ouzo, nieces / nephews / tomboys / bonding, Nathan coming back in April (and Ciel), and more. Then we attempted to go to Chapters so I could see if they had a book about last year's playoff run, but it was closing by the time we got to the plaza!

After that, we just went back to her place. Almost as soon as she took the computer off "sleep mode" while I was in the bathroom, she got a YM message from her friend James, who accepted her apology for the previous night. I came out and saw the screen name, so of course she had to explain about his best friend Kim and her idea of a great name! (DUDE, GET A LESS EMBARRASSING SCREEN NAME!) I signed the guestbook, and wondered whether white Eric was secretly pissed off at her since a bunch of his friends seemed to end friendships with her for no reason at all. She didn't know, but that's a nice conspiracy theory! We watched a bunch of funny videos on CRACKED, and looked at some hilarious lists on the site - we could see the Valentine's theme, for sure. She also found THE SCREWTAPE LETTERS for white Eric's Sunday School since she was reminded of it during dinner. It was fun times, for sure!

Today, I was able to hang out with my good friend Leslie... we went for Greek food at Panos Greek Taverna. I had Cajun sirloin, she had roast lamb, and we shared some calamari. We talked about a lot of things: Citrus being a nice guy, Danielle liking that, their being a good couple, this Saturday's concert and tickets, Jon getting back soon, talking to her sister online and her weird MSN names, my relationship with Fay, cholesterol, Greek / Italian food, not wanting your own ethnic food (reminds her of when her friend Sean called their friend Denise "spoiled" when she didn't want to go to Oscar's after church for Chinese food), and Christmas plans. I wondered if she'd like to go bowling, and mentioned getting tickets to a Canucks game through work, since they supply food to GM Place. Then I mentioned other ideas for hanging out, such as going to one of the revolving restaurants in town: when she tried paying me back for the Greek food tonight, I said it was a "listening fee" and not to worry about it. Fine with her!

It was good... heading home, we heard the Canucks were leading the Bruins 2-0. After she made me watch some weird movie (Rejected), we turned on the radio and found out that Boston scored two goals to tie the game at 2. *goes into Ace Ventura mode* HOW DISAPPOINTING! AND YOU CAN QUOTE ME ON THAT! *end Ace Ventura mode*

Before I leave, I hope the Canucks can win the game... man, it sounds like I'm dying here. hahaha

Hope I can hang out with Leslie and her brother Jon during this upcoming Christmas break, and blog more next time. Ta-ta!

Edit: The Canucks scored two quick goals... hell, yes! Nathan thought of me when he got a ticket for Saturday's Christmas concert in Richmond... I love this guy, man! (but not in that way... we're not perverts! :P)

I was cranky, but now I'm hyper... WOOYEAH! :D :D :D

Well folks...

I finally gotten around to update my blog as my GOOD friend Leslie ([livejournal.com profile] glowing_dragon) suggest. haaha :)

I wondered whether she was up for seeing CHICKEN LITTLE or the MASK OF ZORRO. After reading various IMDB reviews, she declined. Today, me and her went out to a Korean BBQ place... Kimchi Nara wasn't bad. We had a confusing time trying to find parking in the maze that was the covered parking lots, but we eventually found a space after accidentally choosing a spot that was reserved 24 hours for the BCAA staff. For some reason (her health issues?), she wasn't that hungry... but we ordered gyoza / beef short ribs / side dishes / kimchi / miso soup / a stone rice bowl with masago.. gotta love the orange fish eggs! We talked about church issues, Nathan's advice, girl issues, Eric M., Jon, the conflict between being a devoted churchgoer and being a great sports fan, hanging out tomorrow to watch the Detroit game (which idea was later squished by a lazy Nathan since he had to go to a birthday party), LJ, her sister Steph, football, and a host of other topics. I didn't mind that she wasn't able to finish her meal: "It's a free night to make up for the last time when I had to work!" (we might go to bubble tea later on, but we'll see... it's so rainy out!)

Now we're just chilling here until we find something else to do.... I'm reading SPIN magazine and the newspaper's sports section. So it's all good. :D

Picture of masago... so yummy!
